People are irrational creatures. We know this, we’re working on it and some of us are even in therapy. But perhaps few people are more irrational than someone with a bruised ego, as one TikToker found out recently.

Liyah Irene posted a video last month from her family’s storage unit, which she was visiting with her dad. The text on the video reads, “U think ur dad sucks? My dad just sharted himself at the storage and started yelling at me like it was my fault. I told him I’d stay here while he went home to quickly go change and he told me I was being insensitive.”

@liyah_irene Literally a whole argument cuz he poo pood his pants wut u want me to do bruh? Hold ur ? #fyp #foryou #xyzbca #dad #meandad #strictdad #abusiveparents ♬ I Know You - Faye Webster

Meanwhile, the caption reads, “Literally a whole argument cuz he poo pood his pants. Wut u want me to do bruh? Hold ur ?”

A fair question given his reaction.

Many commenters shared Liyah’s confusion, wondering if her dad thought she’d somehow shat his pants just to inconvenience him. A dastardly plot, but ultimately one that would be rather difficult to pull off.

Others were reminded of Pearl from Finding Nemo, Nemo’s octopus friend who cried, “You guys made me ink!” In Pearl’s defense, though, she is incredibly cute, and also, her friends startled her, so she is innocent and blameless and not at all like the dad who shat himself.

Perhaps, then, it’s really just parents who are the irrational creatures. The responses to this classic r/AskReddit thread would certainly suggest as much. One commenter’s dad grounded them for two weeks for playing with the cat, another got yelled at for breaking their foot since their mother thought they were faking it to miss school. Another Redditor’s dad bought some of his favorite cheese, lost it and blamed the Redditor, only to find it in the freezer a few days later.

Who stores cheese in the freezer anyway? The kind of person who yells at their child over cheese they themselves misplaced, I suppose.
